Uniform Policy

Franklin Parish School System

1.   Navy blue, white, or red polo shirt
          Uniform Shirt colors adopted June 24, 2004
2.  Navy blue or Khaki uniform pants.
3.  Special Occasion shirt may be worn on special occasions, controlled by the principal.
4.  Pre-K through 5th grade may wear uniform shorts, navy blue or khaki. Pre-K may wear uniform shorts or skirts with elastic waist.
5.  Length of uniform skirts, jumpers, dresses, and shorts shall be no shorter than 2½ inches above the knee. (The width of a dollar bill)
6.  Black or Brown leather shoes or tennis shoes may be worn for all grades.
7.  Belts must be worn and should only be one size larger than needed.  Colors are Black or Brown.
8.  Jackets that button or zip down the front may be worn. Jackets may have a hood. No trench, dusters, or pull overs.
9.  Socks, stockings/pantyhose, and tights may be worn in the colors of navy, khaki, white, or flesh tone/black (stockings/pantyhose).
10. Backpacks are to be clear or mesh.
11.  Pre-K through 12th grade may wear knit caps on campus in the school colors, not to be worn in the school building and no logos printed on the knit caps. (Jackets with a hood may be worn)
 
 
Uniform Policy Changes Adopted, July 7, 2003:
 
Changes to Pants:
1.      No outside stitched pockets
2.      Must wear belts if pants have belt loops.
3.      No capris
4.      No bell bottoms, cargo pants, or hip huggers
Changes to Shoes:
1.      No open toe shoes (thongs, sandals, etc.)
2.      Open heeled shoes allowed
